Italian producer Richi P brings his potent brand of funky techno to Parity for his label debut. “Baths” is a funky, house inspired techno jam while the flip side “Shtab”, aims for more of a relentless late night vibe for a pair of solid originals. Austin producer and DJ Daniel Allen gives “Baths” a dark, big room inspired tech-house face lift that brings out the underlying funk of the original in new and dramatic ways. Label owner Antonio Caballero is best known for his work as a house producer, but here he takes his jackin’ Chicago sound and gives it a tracky rinse out that sounds like a mix of raw funkiness and an angry buzz saw of bass for your face. The enigmatic Syphon takes the same basic tempate as the Antonio Caballero remix but heads deep in to the murky and dangerous world of congruent techno with a heavily Detroit-influenced minimal injection. Longtime L.A. DJ Hector Villanueva brings a light psychedelic touch to his remix of “Shtab”, with its layers of dense ambience sandwiched between the beats for an expansive, deep remix that is sure to please the late night audiences. Random A returns to Parity with a delicate, melodic, and melancholic remix of “Shtab” complete with rolling drums and dreamy chimes.
